EDUC 654: Biliteracy Education II Methodology & Cultural Contexts

  • Day/Time: Two (2) sessions available: (1) Mondays, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.; (2) Wednesdays, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m
  • Modality: Online - Synchronous virtual instruction

The School of Education at California State University San Marcos invites applications for the position of Bilingual Program Lecturer. This lecturer's role supports bilingual teacher candidates through high-quality instruction. The lecturer plays a critical role in ensuring candidates’ progress toward credential and program requirements while maintaining alignment with California Commission on Teacher Credentialing standards. Minimum qualifications:

  • A master's/terminal degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field.
  • Proficient in Spanish
  • California Credential matching Program of Interest (Multiple Subject with Bilingual Authorization and Single Subject with Bilingual Authorization)
  • Per California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • A doctorate degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field.
  • Experience with teaching teacher candidates
  • Experience in Dual Language Classrooms
  • Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving a diverse campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service.

Salary commensurate with degree level and experience

  • Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $8,000 per full-time month

The salary schedule information for the Lecturer – Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges: 

  • CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A - AY: $5,507 - $6,677 per full-time month 
  • CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer B - AY: $6,221 - $13,224 per full-time month 

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
