California State University San Marcos expects to hire a tenure-track assistant professor for Fall 2024 in the field of Behavioral Neuroscience. We are looking for behavioral Neuroscientist broadly defined, and who can instruct courses including Biopsychology and Laboratory work.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in behavioral neuroscience or a related field (ABD applicants will be accepted; Ph.D. must be completed before employment start date)
  • Active research program in behavioral neuroscience that can involve students
  • Demonstrated evidence of teaching excellence at the university level 
  • Interest in supervising master’s theses

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Evidence of research productivity
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to teach courses in courses in neuroscience including PSYC 360 (Biopsychology) and PSYC 391 (Laboratory in Behavioral Neuroscience
  • A research focus that can take advantage of our vivarium
  • Demonstrated intercultural competence with diverse groups in teaching, research and/or service

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $6,916 - $7,333 per month 

CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,405 - $11,994 per month
