Job Description 

Sport Clubs Coach III (Salsa Libre Dance Coach - Lead) is responsible for the coaching of the assigned Salsa Libre Dance Team(s).

Duties

General: Responsible for coordinating practices and routines; and assisting at competitions. Must be able to teach a wide array of participants from beginners to experienced competitive dancers. Properly instruct fundamentals and advanced technique.

Administrative: The coach will assist club leadership with short and long-term goals and a plan of action for the academic year.

Performs other duties as assigned to support the department, division, and university.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Candidates must have, as a minimum, demonstrated intercollegiate or professional competition experience and/or professional coaching experience and be a High School Graduate/GED.

Candidates need to effectively communicate with a diverse student population, have demonstrated leadership skills, organizational skills and experience commensurate with coaching at the collegiate club level.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

Hourly wage is commensurate with knowledge, skills and experience. This is a seasonal, hourly, part time position typically from September through May of the following year. Travel may be required for some competitions. Practices are typically once a week September through May, with 1-4 competitions during the season (mainly in Southern California. Typical schedule will be 2-4 hours weekly when classes are in session, sometimes more depending on the competition season.

Position and Expected hiring range: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
