
Job Summary
Under general supervision the Instructional Support Technician and Department of Kinesiology Chair, the Equipment Attendant is responsible for instructional equipment, audiovisual equipment, and supplies used in the Kinesiology programs as well as general oversight of common areas such as the locker room(s).
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the preparation and issue of all instructional equipment and supplies - Issue and check-in instructional equipment, audiovisual equipment, and supplies to faculty, staff and department majors each academic instructional session for on-campus or off-campus activity/laboratory/fieldwork experiences.
- Maintains and conducts a periodic inventory of instructional equipment, audiovisual equipment, and supplies - Inspect, clean, maintain, and repair instructional equipment and audiovisual equipment, arrange for technical/specialized repairs where needed.
- Assists with locker room and locker management - Assist in clearing and cleaning lockers and reassign locks. Launder, dry, and fold clothing and towels for reissue on a daily basis and restock issue areas, as needed.
- Responsible for the preparation and issue of instructional equipment, audiovisual equipment, and supplies for Department sponsored camps, workshops, and events.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to coordinate the preparation, issuance, and return of instructional and audiovisual equipment and supplies for academic sessions, fieldwork, and department-sponsored events. They will demonstrate proficiency in conducting regular inventories, inspecting and maintaining equipment, and arranging for specialized repairs when necessary. Additionally, they will be experienced in supporting locker room operations, including locker management, laundry services, and restocking issue areas. The candidate should be skilled in using general office programs such as Outlook for scheduling and communication, and Word for maintaining clear and organized documentation. Their attention to detail, reliability, and ability to support both instructional and operational needs will be essential to the success of the department.

Education and Experience
Equivalent to high school diploma required.
Physical Summary
- Medium work - Job involves lifting heavy-weight objects (20-40 pounds) and/or 20% - 40% of the job involves standing, squatting, kneeling, or walking. May require pushing or pulling objects within the weight limits.

• Possession of or ability to obtain an American Red Cross First Aid Certificate.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $3,773 - $4,509 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3,773 - $5,282 per month.
Time Base
1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment
This is a temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
