
Job Summary:
Under the lead work direction of the Santos Manuel Student Union (SMSU) Facilities and Services Coordinator and the Coyote Lanes Lead, the Coyote Lanes Attendant is responsible for greeting customers, checking out equipment, processing point-of-sale transactions, handling cash, and providing high-quality customer service at both the front desk and on the floor of the facility. Becoming an integral member of a hard-working team of full-time and part-time staff within the Santos Manuel Student Union, a Coyote Lanes Attendant should be able to work independently and as a team member. Attendants should be willing and flexible to work with a diverse population of participants, members, and Coyote Lanes staff
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Front Desk Operations & Customer Service
- Greet customers and provide excellent front-line customer service
- Answer questions, provide tours, and share accurate information
- Maintain positive and effective working relationships with customers
- Inform appropriate staff of any customer issues
Point-of-Sale Transactions & Equipment Checkout
- Operate POS system and handle cash transactions
- Check out and return equipment
- Complete filing and organizational tasks as assigned
Facility Oversight & Policy Enforcement
- Enforce Coyote Lanes and SMSU policies
- Monitor activities to ensure safe and enjoyable use of the facility
- Understand and explain facility and university rules to guests
Facility Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Clean and maintain lane conditions during assigned shifts
- Troubleshoot basic pinsetter and equipment issues
- Reporting maintenance problems or safety hazards
Reservation and Scheduling Support
- Review the reservation system daily
- Follow up with client reservations and respond to inquiries
Emergency Preparedness & Safety Compliance
- Participating in the facility’s Emergency Action Plan
- Report accidents and complete required documentation
- Following the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan
- Reporting unsafe equipment or conditions
Meetings, Training & Organizational Engagement
- Attend and participate in staff meetings
- Maintain knowledge of SMSU/CSUSB mission, events, and updates
- Must obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire
- Must participate in CSUSB Cah Handle Training within the first 30 days of hire
Other Duties as Assigned
- Assist with relevant tasks that support Coyote Lanes and SMSU operations
Minimum Qualifications: Required Education and Experience
- Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
- Special Qualification: Admission or registration as a CSU student.
Required Qualifications
- Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
- Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
- International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Payroll Requirement: Social Security Card
Compensation and Benefits:
Student Employment Anticipated Hiring Range: $16.50 per hour.
The compensation offered will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.

This is an 'On-Campus Only' position. Student Employees are not eligible to telecommute at any time.

Background Check
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) may be required for student employment purposes. Possession of a valid Driver's License may be required. Employees in this position will be enrolled in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Government Employer Pull Notice Program which confirms possession of a valid driver's license and reflects driving record.
