Universal Horror Unleashed is a terrifyingly unique experience that will bring haunts to Las Vegas year-round. Located at Area 15 is the heart of horror – we would love to have you haunting alongside us! With the nature of this experience comes a unique working environment. You will find yourself working in dark environments around special effects including strobe lights, fog, artificial smells, and more. The working hours will be unique, typically spanning over late evenings/nights and weekends (holidays included). JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting numerous technical disciplines and other technical operational needs within Universal Horror Unleashed (UHU). Supports installation and repairs as assigned to ensure operational readiness, show quality, and positive guest experience. Ensures safety of self, guests, and other Team Members by taking proper safety precautions, following both state and company specific standards. Provides installations and repair assistance for any set changes/special events as directed.   

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports discipline specific Technicians in the installation and maintenance of any equipment and assets to ensure operational readiness, show quality, and positive guest experience. Assists with necessary daily repairs. Supports the loading, unloading, and staging of all Technical & Show equipment and materials in partnership with Technical Management and Technical Coordinators.
  • Assists the discipline specific Technicians on executing assigned tasks given from Technical Lead/Supervisor and UHU Management. Assists with routine inspections and preventative maintenance of multiple Technical & Show disciplines such as Entertainment Control, Communications, Audio, Video, Lighting, and Effects Systems and Components for UHU. Inspections include testing, cleaning, replacing and/or calibration of Show Systems.
  • Supports installations for any special events, seasonal overlays, or set changes as directed, accurately completing the work to the design intent and troubleshoots when necessary. Performs projects and modifications to equipment and systems as directed by UHU Entertainment and Technical & Show Management. Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
  • Assembles and disassembles equipment and tools for work operations and builds scenery, props, and other show items as directed. Cleans show systems equipment and other components as per manufacturer specifications.
  • Responsible for effectively communicating necessary information, pertaining to the technical operation of UHU to both upper management and affected Team Members. Completes necessary reporting through the proper systems to ensure effective communication between shifts as well as with Technical Management and Technical Coordinators.
  • Maintains basic working knowledge of basic power tool, metal work, and fabrication techniques, staying up to date with industry standards and state requirements. Completes all company mandated training and maintains any state required license renewals.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required. 

  • Possess general knowledge of power tools and hand tools.
  • Strong Problem-Solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Any required local and state certifications including OSHA 10.

EDUCATION

  • Associate’s degree in related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of general technical or stage hand experience is required, 1+ year within the professional entertainment or themed entertainment industry is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
