Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. JOB SUMMARY:

Performs advanced engineering support to provide technical expertise and competence, to achieve company sustainability goals and objectives. Aids in the development of project scope, methodology and action plans, to reduce energy consumption and/or reduction in waste across Universal Parks & Resorts. Drives projects from concept to implementation to positively impact the company's sustainability initiatives. Assist with compiling goals and metrics for corporate sustainability reporting.  

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs evaluations of existing electrical infrastructure with a focus on reducing carbon emissions and operation and maintenance expenses. Recommends modifications building level electrical systems, lighting and controls.
  • Performs engineering calculations for design, analysis, test and implementation of electrical systems improvements
  • Establish key performance tracking metrics and monitor ongoing performance.
  • Partner with internal clients to facilitate productivity and efficiency related analyses. Evaluate and improve methods and procedures for the various operational processes throughout the resort. Also partner with external vendors to provide solutions to improve operational and sales initiatives.
  • Manages assigned projects from design through installation.
  • Provides project status of assigned task list items to Sustainability managers and other internal department personnel as necessary.
  • Prepares scope of work documents for sustainability projects
  • Aid in the development and delivery of business cases & presentations to be presented from front line stakeholders to executive leadership
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field required

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years demonstrated project engineering experience with 1 year of project management experience in an engineering environment preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior engineering experience with buildings and/or facilities required; prior electrical engineering experience strongly preferred
  • Prior engineering experience within the theme park industry a plus

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Analytical skills to perform engineering calculations for design, analysis, test and implementation of electrical distribution and building electrical systems.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering plans and specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, PowerPoint and Visio)
  • Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and oral formats.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, including ability to partner with others and deal with multiple priorities and differing points of view in a challenging operational environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under changing conditions
  • Willingness to support a 24/7/365 Universal Parks & Resorts (UPR) operation, which includes periods of high demand (weekends, holidays, etc.)
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
