JOB SUMMARY
: The Universal Creative Intern will have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals to gain valuable knowledge, skills, and networking opportunities associated with Universal Creative theme park attractions design and construction. In this position, our Universal Creative Intern will collaborate with project stakeholders to help facilitate the Architectural Design/Engineering and Construction Management of new facilities with a team of designers, engineers, and contractors. The Universal Creative Intern will also learn to collaboration with different trades involved in theme park facility design, overall design and engineering processes, research, documentation, and presentation of new ideas. Primarily, the intern will be requested to help prepare and coordinate documentation that captures proposed attraction design/operations/maintenance information that helps the Facility Design and Construction team operate more efficiently. The intern may also be assigned tasks, as they are identified, to help with active design development and construction management both in the office and in the field.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research and compile attraction information to facilitate design and planning.
  • Coordinate attraction concepts alongside architectural and show designers, engineers, construction management team, and other related disciplines.
  • Ability to generate 3D models as well as 2D CAD drawings or sketches as needed.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize collaboratively and effectively.
  • Support field observations, progress, and integrate solutions.
  • 7. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required. 
  • A transcript is required upon application.

PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Preferred majors include: Architecture, Structural Engineering, Construction Management.
  • Experience with BIM (Revit and Navisworks experience preferred).
  • Understanding of design and construction.
  • Working knowledge of Sketchup preferred.
  • Coursework in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Management preferred.
  • Background in studio art or digital media preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.

Please note the following:

  • This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than August 2026.
  • Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
  • All of our internships are paid, and you may also qualify for housing financial assistance if applicable. The Recruiter will provide specific eligibility details.
