JOB SUMMARY: The AI Engineer Intern will play an integral role in advancing our AI initiatives by contributing to the development and implementation of GPT-powered tools and agentic systems. This role offers the intern the opportunity to work on advanced AI technologies that have a direct and meaningful impact on various teams within our organization. By collaborating closely with a team of experienced engineers, the intern will help accelerate the creation of AI-driven solutions that are essential for automating and enhancing processes across the company, ultimately leading to greater efficiency and innovation. Throughout the internship, the intern will gain hands-on experience in programming, AI model development, and integrating these models into larger systems. This experience will provide the intern with a comprehensive understanding of how AI can be effectively leveraged to address complex business challenges, preparing them for a successful career in AI engineering.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creates and fine-tunes GPTs for various tasks, including natural language understanding, conversation modeling, and leveraging the OpenAI platform for advanced AI capabilities.
- Develops, trains, and fine-tunes AI models for various applications, including computer vision, natural language processing, and machine learning for real-time park and infrastructure analytics.
- Works closely with cross-functional teams, including creative, engineering, and operations, to implement AI solutions that enhance guest experiences and improve operational efficiency.
- Jumps into daily tasks like coding, testing, and debugging to keep our AI systems running smoothly, and join team meetings to share updates and ideas.
- Participates in research and development for new AI technologies, including generative models and agentic systems, to improve guest and operational experiences.
- Participates in code reviews, giving and receiving feedback.
- Stays on top of the latest AI trends by doing research and bringing new ideas to the table for our projects.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Senior or above.
- Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
- A transcript is required upon application.
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Preferred majors include: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar.
- Preferred coursework: Machine Learning, AI Model Development, or similar.
- Experience with Python, Visual Studio, OpenAI API, PyTorch, and/or Docker.

- This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
- Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than August 2026.
- Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
- All of our internships are paid, and you may also qualify for housing financial assistance if applicable. The Recruiter will provide specific eligibility details.
