JOB SUMMARY:
Work with Engineers to assist with basic re-design and development efforts of Mechanical, Electrical, Show and/or Ride controls and software systems for Global Attractions Programs (GAP) at Universal Orlando Resort. Intern will learn Safety systems for Ride Controls, how to interface with vendor and basic Project Management skills along with Electrical and Mechanical engineering fundamentals.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support with official project documentation.
- Assists with engineering calculations relating to the basic re-design and development efforts of software systems.
- Aid in Factory Acceptance Testing.
- Participates in Site Acceptance Testing.
- Contribute to vendor management, including communication and timeline organization.
- Assists with troubleshooting and fault analysis.
- Utilizes Electrical and Mechanical engineering fundamentals in a professional mentored environment.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
- Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
- A transcript is required upon application.
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Preferred majors include: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Eng. Tech, Electrical/Electronics Eng Tech, Computer Engineering, or similar.
- Preferred coursework completed: Physics, Calculus, or similar.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of AC/DC electrical.
- Knowledge with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and basic programming skills.
Please note the following:
- This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
- Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than August 2026.
- Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
- All of our internships are paid, and you may also qualify for housing financial assistance if applicable. The Recruiter will provide specific eligibility details.
