JOB SUMMARY:
The Team Lead is a key member of the UPT Asset Management team, responsible for the research, review, testing, and approval of hardware and software assets in accordance with project and business objectives. The Team Lead will assist leadership in overseeing the daily operations of the Asset Management team and ensuring the team meets their service level agreements. The Team Lead will work with department leadership, UPT partners, and approved vendors for project and bulk requests and orders. The Team Lead will ensure all procedure and process documentation is accurate and complete and will work with senior team members to facilitate training sessions. Strong communication skills and proper email etiquette are needed to effectively communicate with our business partners, vendors, and team members.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for researching and reviewing product roadmaps and offerings from hardware and software vendors and recommending upgrades or new purchases in accordance with key business objectives and projects.
- Responsible for hardware testing and validation including review/sign-off from IT Security, Legal, Field Services, and various business partners; and physical evaluation of hardware against approved specifications and project requirements.
- Assist with daily operations of the Asset Management Team, working with leadership on scheduling, escalations, daily meetings, and training, providing data for team metrics and reporting of key business objectives and service level agreements; and ensuring procedure and process documentation is accurate and complete.
- Responsible for project and bulk orders in coordination with PMO, vendors, and UPT partners.
- Participate in regular communication and collaboration with approved vendors and UPT and business leadership.
- Responsible for reconciling and quality control checks on description and assignments to verify asset and inventory policies are adhered to by all team members.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Military classes or equivalent training.
EXPERIENCE:
- 4+ years in asset management, inventory management, or hardware/software review, testing and approval.
- 1+ year in Field Services or PC/Desktop support related field with a strong understanding of ITSM/inventory management and discovery tools;
- or equivalent combination of education and experience.
