JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the planning and execution of Discretionary and Capital projects within Park and Resort Operations, while collaborating with all levels of management in the department for input. Works closely with the Operations field management team, Universal Creative, Facilities, Engineering, Planned Work and vendors to define, develop, and execute the scope of their assignments as it relates to each of their respective specialties. Responsible for following the established project management process to deploy projects to meet business objectives. Assist in the transition of manual data collecting processes to new innovating ways to study trends and distribute critical information to Operations groups.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the management of all departmental discretionary projects. This includes work statements, work breakdown structures, developing and tracking budget and schedule, tracking individual project tasks, providing risk analysis, tracking and resolving issues and action items, providing various project management visibility and control measures, reporting as needed, and communicating to project team and stakeholders. Collaborates with partners to gather requirements and quality assurance as needed.
- Delegates and schedules various work to be done by outside vendors to satisfy specific project requirements and to support seasonal events. Sets and communicates expectations, monitors and follows up on all work to ensure proper completion and satisfaction, tracking punch list items to closure. Communicates to Operations Leadership with updates on schedule and progress of each project as it relates to their specific group
- Supports the Operations Senior Manager with the capital project development and implementation. Ensures appropriate documentation of project goals, financial/business related needs and project milestone timelines. Helps coordinate design, cost estimates, and installation plans with Planned Work or Universal Creative as necessary. Oversee in-park integration of projects to ensure operational expectations and service standards are met. Reviews ongoing project submissions and provides justification documentation where necessary for executive consideration in the annual planning cycle.
- Assist in the on-going transition and migration of data and multiple reports from multiple systems into an easy-to-use interface accessible from both the desktop and mobile devices. This may include the gathering of reports and data, mocked up design, presentation development, user review and buy-in, development,
- testing and distribution of the product
- Identify, develop, and implement metrics and measurements to Facilitate a consistent approach to performance tracking, trending and analysis of Operations data sets. Developed metrics and measurements will be pulled from various independent and cross connected data management systems being operated across UPR to react to and proactively predict performance.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Associate’s degree (AA) is preferred in Project Management, Business.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred in Project Management, Business.
- Knowledge of project management concepts and processes, requirements gathering, or business analysis preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 1-3+ years of leadership / management experience in front of house facing business required.
- Project Management and/or Business Analysis experience preferred.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Presentation / Facilitation Skills: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and large group situations to clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Computer Skills: Individual must be proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
