About the role:
UNSW’s Precincts portfolio, based in the Office of the Vice Chancellor and President, focuses the University’s investment and capabilities in key geographic locations (including Randwick, Western Sydney, Canberra City and Regional NSW) where we can create enduring impact. Through these place-based ecosystems, we bring together education, research, innovation and partnerships with government, industry and community to respond to local priorities and create broader societal and economic value. This role will suit someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, is motivated by bold transformation, likes building partnerships and enjoys the challenge and variety that comes with leading large scale strategic projects.
As the Executive Officer, you will provide a high level of administrative, secretariat, project and business support to the Pro Vice-Chancellor Precincts and senior management, contributing to effective business planning and delivery of key objectives of the portfolio.
Your day to day will include:
- Partner with the Pro Vice-Chancellor Precincts to advance strategic priorities, providing advice, research and project management support to deliver portfolio objectives.
- Lead stakeholder engagement and governance activities, building effective relationships across the University and external partners while ensuring compliance with policies and governance requirements.
- Provide high-level executive and operational support, managing complex priorities, coordinating business activities, and preparing quality briefings, reports, presentations and correspondence.
- Drive business improvement and organisational effectiveness, supporting new initiatives, streamlining processes, and contributing to continuous improvement across systems, programs and operations.
- Monitor compliance and portfolio performance, supporting reporting requirements, and contributing to financial, legal and risk management activities that support informed decision-making.
This role reports to the Pro Vice-Chancellor Precincts and while it has no formal direct reports, it is expected to work closely with a matrix structured team operating across several different geographical locations.
Who you are: Bringing demonstrated experience across executive, project and operational support in a complex environment, you’ll hold strong judgement and stakeholder engagement skills to enable the successful delivery of strategic and operational objectives, within a collaborative multi-stakeholder university setting.
