Why Your Role Matters:
The Project Officer plays a key role within the Faculty of Arts, Design & Architecture, providing practical and efficient project support for project teams and key stakeholders on the Paddington Campus.

The role provides project coordination and support, reporting and analytical support, develops communications, builds key internal and external relationships, and provides administrative support for key programs and projects.

The position reports to the School of Art & Design Senior School Manager, supports the School and relevant School Leadership, and has no direct reports.

Responsibilities Summary:

  • Support the delivery of Paddington Campus projects and initiatives to achieve operational and strategic goals, including the Annual Graduation Exhibition.
  • Support the development of project plans and schedules and participate in planning processes as required.
  • Monitor, track and report on project deliverables to ensure time, cost and quality metrics align with approved project plans.
  • Provide practical and proactive project support and administrative services to project teams and stakeholders, including monitoring project risks and issues and providing solutions where applicable.
  • Coordinate project administration, including workshops and meetings, minute taking, assigned actions and follow-ups, and project status reporting.
  • Review, action and monitor administration requests from Paddington Academic Research units, including purchasing, financial administration, operational and space support, using Faculty shared administration units as appropriate.
  • Develop and manage effective communications with key internal and external stakeholders for Paddington Campus projects.
  • Support adherence to UNSW governance pathways and assist with the implementation and application of policies, guidelines and procedures for the effective operation of the Paddington Campus and School of Art & Design.

Skills and Experience Summary:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience, or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Sound stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience using a range of computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office 365; knowledge of web and intranet applications such as SharePoint and Mailchimp is an advantage.
  • Excellent time management skills, with demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines using judgement and initiative.
  • Project experience, with an understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans, objectives and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, while also taking initiative and working independently when managing competing demands.
