Why Your Role Matters:

The Division of Societal Impact, Equity and Engagement (DSIEE) leads UNSW's efforts to create positive and lasting impact through research, education and community engagement. Embedded within the Faculty of Arts, Design & Architecture (ADA), the External Engagement team works to amplify the faculty's research, education and student experience through strategic communications, events, stakeholder engagement and digital initiatives.

Reporting to the Senior External Engagement Manager, the Project Officer supports the planning, coordination and delivery of projects, communications, events and engagement initiatives across the Faculty. Working with a diverse range of stakeholders, the role contributes to the successful delivery of activities that support faculty priorities and external engagement objectives.

Your focus: Deliver strategic projects, communications and events that engage key audiences and demonstrate the societal impact of UNSW Arts, Design & Architecture.

As a Project Officer you will:

  • Coordinate and deliver a diverse portfolio of projects, communications and engagement initiatives that support Faculty priorities.
  • Support the planning and delivery of events, activations and stakeholder engagement activities across the Faculty.
  • Develop and deliver communications materials, campaigns and content for a range of internal and external audiences.

  • Coordinate website updates and digital content, ensuring information remains accurate, engaging and aligned with University standards.
  • Build productive relationships with stakeholders across the Faculty, University and external community.
  • Monitor project performance and contribute to evaluation, reporting and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support compliance with UNSW governance, brand and approval processes across all projects and initiatives.

Who you are: You are a highly organised and proactive professional who enjoys working across a diverse portfolio of projects, communications and events. You are equally comfortable collaborating as part of a team and working autonomously, and you bring strong communication skills, sound judgement and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.

This role would suit someone with demonstrated experience supporting or delivering events, projects and stakeholder engagement initiatives within a complex organisation. You enjoy building relationships, managing competing priorities and taking ownership of projects from planning through to delivery and evaluation.

You will bring the following skills and experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, or an equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or coordinating projects, including planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience supporting or delivering events, engagement activities and communications initiatives from planning through to execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop audience-focused communications and build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working with a broad range of stakeholders and navigating complex organisational environments.
  • Experience using event and communications platforms such as Eventbrite and Mailchimp.
  • Proficiency across a range of digital platforms and applications, including Adobe Creative Suite and website content management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team while exercising initiative and working independently.
  • Experience within higher education, government, creative industries, galleries, fundraising, events or stakeholder engagement environments will be highly regarded.
