Why your role matters:
Conduct & Integrity supports UNSW by ensuring that the principles of respect and integrity underpin the pursuit of knowledge. We manage matters relating to student misconduct, complaints, research integrity, and serious wrongdoing, ensuring that concerns are assessed and resolved fairly, consistently and in line with legislative, regulatory and institutional obligations.
As Senior Case Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and investigating some of the University’s most serious and complex cases. You’ll be working with a collaborative team and will be at the forefront of managing and conducting robust investigations into public interest disclosures and other complex misconduct matters.
As an investigator, you will be required to have a working knowledge of the Public Interest Disclosures Act 2022 (NSW), Independent Commission Against Corruption Act 1988 (NSW, Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) along with a willingness to learn and apply further legislation as required, ensuring the University meets its legislative and duty of care obligations in managing and investigating the most serious, sensitive, and complex of Conduct & Integrity cases.
The role reports to the Head of Disclosures & Complex Investigations and does not have any direct reports.

Skills and Experience: With extensive experience and expert knowledge in workplace investigations, procedural fairness, and the rules of evidence, you’ll bring superior emotional intelligence and resilience alongside exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to the role.
Core skills and experience for the role include (but are not limited to):
- A relevant tertiary qualification and substantial experience in case management of complex misconduct and/or complaints matters, and/or holding an academic or research position.
- Experience working in complex organisations such as tertiary sector, public service, or large corporate organisations would be highly regarded
- A Certificate IV in Government Investigations, or willingness to obtain within 12 months of commencement.
- Demonstrated advanced case management skills, including the proven ability to work in a high volume, process driven administrative environment with multiple deadlines requiring you to work accurately, engage multiple stakeholders and keep contemporaneous records.
- Demonstrated sound judgment and a superior level of emotional intelligence.
- Proven ability to exercise initiative, think conceptually and creatively, and to adopt an active and curiosity-driven forensic approach to problem-solving.
- Demonstrated competence and relevant experience in the analysis and application of regulatory and professional principles, resources and guidelines.
- Detailed knowledge of procedural fairness, the University’s codes, policies and procedures relating to complaints and allegations of misconduct and current national and international research and case findings.
- Advanced competence in analysing, developing and writing reports and correspondence with excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrated superior advisory, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
