Help shape what’s next at Engineering 🚀

Engineering is getting ready for a big change. A new academic calendar that will shape the way students study and experience university.

We’re looking for 15 student ambassadors who are curious, approachable and love connecting with others to join our Academic Calendar Transition (ACT) Student Ambassador team.
You’ll be the student voice in the room. You'll be sharing your perspective, connecting with fellow students, bringing fresh ideas and helping make the transition clear, engaging and a positive experience for everyone.

What will you do?

As an ACT Student Ambassador, you will:
• Engage with prospective and current students, providing information about ACT, Engineering and the student experience.
• Share your student perspective and help students understand and navigate the transition.
• Be the eyes and ears of the ACT team, sharing student perspectives, questions and feedback to help us understand how students are perceiving and responding to the transition.
• Act as a MyPlan Champion, helping fellow students understand and navigate MyPlan.
• Participate in focus groups, discussions and other student engagement activities, sharing insights and ideas that can help make the transition more effective.
• Support the planning and preparation for Open Day and other key events, as well as participating in the events themselves.
• Participate in Student Information Days, O-Week and other Engineering and UNSW events and promotional activities to help engage students and promote the student experience.
• Bring ideas about how ACT information can be communicated in ways that are relevant, accessible and engaging for students.
• Welcome students and visitors and provide general event and campus support.
• Participate in relevant training and briefings and provide general administrative support where required.
• Follow all University health and safety policies and procedures.

What are we looking for?
We’re looking for students who are:
• Friendly, approachable and enjoy connecting with others.
• Confident communicating with students in individual and group settings.
• Good listeners who are open to different perspectives.
• Curious and interested in understanding the student experience.
• Creative and willing to share ideas.
• Reliable, proactive and willing to learn.
You don’t need to know everything about Calendar Transition when you apply. We’ll provide the training and information you need.
