Together, we are driven to be thoughtful, practical, and purposeful in all we do. If you want a career where you can thrive, be challenged and do meaningful work, you’re in the right place

Why Your Role Matters:

The Division of Societal Impact, Equity and Engagement (DSIEE) leads UNSW's efforts to create positive and lasting impact through research, education and community engagement. Within DSIEE, the Strategic Events team delivers a diverse portfolio of flagship events, activations and engagement initiatives that strengthen UNSW's reputation and connect audiences with world-leading ideas and expertise.

As an Events Marketing Coordinator, you will play a key role in driving audience growth, engagement and participation across Strategic Events initiatives, with a particular focus on the Centre for Ideas, UNSW's public engagement and thought leadership platform.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Event Programs and leading one direct report, you will develop and deliver integrated marketing campaigns, create engaging content, leverage audience insights and analytics, and optimise digital channels to maximise impact and reach.

Your focus:

  • Develop and deliver integrated marketing and audience engagement campaigns that support Strategic Events, Centre for Ideas and other key UNSW initiatives.
  • Create compelling content across digital channels, including EDMs, websites, social media, paid campaigns and event communications.
  • Lead content planning and execution across Centre for Ideas and Strategic Events social media channels, producing engaging copy, imagery and video content that drives audience growth and engagement.
  • Manage and continually optimise website content and user journeys, ensuring an engaging, accessible and high-performing digital experience.
  • Utilise analytics, CRM platforms and audience insights to evaluate campaign performance, identify opportunities and inform future marketing activity.
  • Support audience segmentation, acquisition and retention strategies, using customer journey data to improve engagement outcomes.
  • Coordinate the delivery of marketing campaigns across owned, earned and paid channels to maximise reach and audience participation.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and provide marketing advice that supports project objectives and audience outcomes.
  • Manage campaign budgets, suppliers and production schedules to ensure activity is delivered effectively and on time.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture focused on innovation, creativity and continuous improvement.

Who you are: You are a creative and data-driven marketing professional who thrives on connecting audiences with meaningful content and experiences. You bring a strong understanding of digital marketing, audience behaviour and content creation, coupled with the ability to translate insights into engaging campaigns that deliver measurable results.

You will bring the following skills and experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, media, events or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering successful digital marketing campaigns, ideally within events, arts, education, media or agency environments.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, audience engagement strategies and content marketing best practice.
  • Experience using CRM platforms, audience segmentation tools and analytics to inform marketing strategy and optimise customer journeys.
  • Proven ability to interpret campaign data, evaluate performance and make evidence-based recommendations to improve results.
  • Experience managing website content and digital platforms, with exposure to platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager highly regarded.
  • Strong content creation skills, including copywriting, editing and social media content production, with experience creating visual or multimedia content highly desirable.
  • Experience using digital marketing and creative tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Sprout Social, Meta Business Suite or similar platforms.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across a broad range of audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach, with a passion for innovation, storytelling and audience engagement.
