Work Integrated Learning Officer (Faculty of Medicine & Health)

  • Employment Type: Full - time (35 hours a week)
  • Duration: Fixed Term from 19 October 2026 - 5 October 2027
  • Remuneration: $108,021 base (+17% super and a leave loading)
  • Work rights: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered for this position. 
  • Location: UNSW Campus, Kensington (Hybrid working, minimum of 2 days in the office with a chance of those days increasing)

The Opportunity  

The role supports the coordination and delivery of student placements for UNSW Medicine & Health programs and is based in the Education and Student Experience Faculty team. Duties will include identifying placement opportunities, scheduling and allocating placements, maintaining student records and compliance systems, and monitoring placement progress. It works closely with academic staff and internal and external stakeholders to ensure placement requirements are met, while providing clear, proactive support and communication to students throughout the placement process.

Key skills and experience required:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience in a tertiary education environment, preferably with organising placements in the Public and Private Health sectors, or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders including academics, professional staff and professional networks.
  • Demonstrated experience providing effective customer service and support to clients at all levels.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to plan, manage and streamline multiple tasks/processes, respond to changing priorities and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
  • High-level proficiency in a range of computing skills, including Microsoft suite applications and Placement Management Systems, with the ability to learn and promote the use of new systems.
