The portfolio is structured around four pillars: Marketing & Content, Digital Experience, Strategy & Performance, and Future Student Recruitment, with offshore operations in China and India.

The whatever Digital Project Officer (internally called Web Engagement Officer) sits within the Digital Experience pillar and works closely with the Web Technical Team to improve and consolidate UNSW’s web ecosystem. This role is focused on coordinating digital and web projects, keeping stakeholders aligned, supporting timelines and deliverables, and helping progress site transitions, web updates, and digital improvement work. You will work across projects involving content updates, usability, website structure, accessibility, SEO, CMS updates, and new website builds.

This opportunity would suit someone who brings strong project management capability and, ideally, experience in digital experience or web delivery. This is a parental leave cover until October 2027 (no extension).

Reporting to the Program Manager, this role has no direct reports.

  • Maintain accessibility and brand compliance across UNSW’s digital ecosystem and advise stakeholders on web functionality and accessibility

  • Manage user stories and redirection plans to improve engagement, optimisation and compliance

  • Partner with technical leads and developers to optimise integrations and define developer requirements

  • Support web reporting through Analytics, improve pages for search ranking.

About You

We are looking for someone who is aligned with UNSW’s vision and values, brings excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work confidently with both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels, and comes with:

  • Demonstrated organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, competing priorities, and changing stakeholder needs

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a practical, solutions-focused approach

  • Experience working on digital, web, marketing, content, or technology-related projects

  • Familiarity with project delivery approaches such as Agile or hybrid project methodology

  • Confidence learning new systems, platforms, and digital processes

  • Interest in web experience, digital content, usability, accessibility, SEO, and continuous improvement

Experience with web content production, CMS platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager or Drupal, analytics tools, CRM systems, HTML/CSS, SEO, information architecture, or accessibility would be highly regarded, but this is primarily a project coordination role rather than a technical developer role.
