Remuneration: Level 9 from $153,933 + leave loading + 17% super
Location: UNSW Canberra, ADFA Campus

Why Your Role Matters:
The Manager, Education Support is an exciting role, leading the Learning and Teaching Group in the provision of educational development, design, innovation, insights, academic support and psychology and wellness services.

The role manages a broad range of outputs and capabilities, making it suitable for someone who loves a fast paced and fluid environment where new and exciting initiatives and challenges are the norm.

The role sits within the Student Life and Experience Portfolio and currently has up to 15 direct reports. The Manager is responsible for delivering strategic initiatives under the direction of the Head of Student Life and Experience, working closely with the Faculty Associate Dean (Education) and other key stakeholders.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Provide leadership to the Learning and Teaching Group team, building a safe and supportive culture and promoting an environment of improvement, innovation and exploration to drive educational quality and student experience.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure staff are knowledgeable and possess appropriate capabilities to deliver Faculty educational expectations and support in line with a Group of Eight university. 
  • Undertake analysis and prepare reports, presentations, business cases and other documents to provide high-level advice and evidence-based recommendations on a range of strategic and operational education support matters. 
  • Manage projects, initiatives and grants sitting within the Student Life and Experience Portfolio, using available resources to ensure expectations are met on time and within budget.
  • Ensure hazards and risks psychosocial and physical are identified and controlled for tasks, projects, and activities that pose a health and safety risk within your area of responsibility. 



Who You Are (skills and experience): 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • High level leadership, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • Significant experience in developing, delivering and continually improving processes and systems, including project management and change management processes.
  • Competency working with a range of information, technology and education systems in a tertiary setting including learning, student and people management systems.
  • Extensive operational management skills including planning, priority setting, and staff management, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines using judgement and initiative.
