Why your role matters

The Future Students Marketing Lead is a specialist role responsible for leading performance marketing across owned, paid and other channels to support the recruitment of UNSW’s key future student audiences, including domestic undergraduate, domestic postgraduate and international students.

Working within the Future Students Marketing team, this role will help drive the strategy and implementation of full-funnel marketing activity aligned to UNSW’s Lifelong Learner priorities. The position is responsible for the campaigns, tools and processes that underpin marketing operations, including audience insights, data, creative assets, budgets, optimisation and reporting.

The role will collaborate closely across UNSW to ensure marketing programs are delivered to a high standard and achieve strong return on investment. It will also play a key role in ensuring audience-appropriate messaging, brand consistency, creative excellence and the ongoing effectiveness of owned and paid marketing channels.

Reporting to the Head of Future Students Marketing & Content, the Future Students Marketing Lead may also manage a small team of 1–3 direct reports.

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Lead go-to-market programs for the university with a focus on driving awareness, performance marketing, search, and content performance, to achieve targets including generating leads, enrolments and lowering the cost per enrolment.  
  • Lead the successful ideation, implementation, review and optimisation of marketing programs to recruit target audiences. 
  • Work closely with a variety of stakeholders including agencies, faculties, social media and content teams to ensure successful campaigns within budget.  
  • Own, develop, and optimise all customer-facing content and communications with respect to marketing programs.

About You:  

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and relevant substantial experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any combination of education, training and student recruitment experience.  
  • Demonstrated experience running marketing programs - ideally inside an experience or knowledge sector like education 
  • Strong experience in implementing paid and organic campaigns, managing production with creative agencies and reporting on performance. 
  • Strong digital marketing experience including understanding of marketing automation, SEO optimisation and customer lifecycle marketing. Experience working with Adobe Experience Platform or equivalent enterprise level marketing solutions is essential.  
  • Outstanding organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively across a matrix organisation, ideally with experience of Agile Ways of Working. 
  • A superior communicator with the ability to present marketing results in a compelling way and liaise effectively with students, staff and external stakeholders. 
  • Strong attention to detail, with experience in leading multiple projects simultaneously, and to tight deadlines.
