The Opportunity
The Engagement and Communications Officer provides expert, proactive, and collaborative project support across a portfolio of the schools across the Faculty of Engineering, and occasionally assists with specific projects in the faculty head office. This role reports to the Senior Manager, External Engagement for Engineering with a dotted line to the School Manager(s) of the School in which the project work is being completed and has no direct reports.
- Salary, Level 6: $103,866 - $110,801 per annum + 17% superannuation
- Full time
- Fixed-Term to December 2026 (potential for extension)
- Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia (on campus attendance required 4 days a week)

Skills and Experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in writing copy and content creation for online platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram as well as website copy in a professional setting.
- Advanced time management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to develop and implement engagement initiatives that increase participation, strengthen relationships and support organisational objectives.
- Demonstrated success in event coordination.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to provide effective customer service and support to stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences and communicate with influence.
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a team, preferably within a stakeholder-driven environment.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across academic, professional and external communities.
- Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
