The Moodle Assistant supports academic staff with the production of digitised learning materials for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

 

This role will:

  • Casual, project-based role within the Student Engagement & Success Team, PVCSS UNSW Sydney.
  • Redesign and redevelop compulsory onboarding student modules in Moodle, tailored to specific student cohorts.
  • Translate existing content into engaging, accessible, and cohort-relevant learning experiences.
  • Work closely with the student engagement and success team to ensure module content reflects the needs of diverse student groups.
  • Apply instructional design principles to improve the structure, flow, and usability of online learning materials.
  • Review and update existing eLearning assets, including embedded media, recordings, and interactive elements.
  • Ensure all content aligns with UNSW branding, accessibility standards, and student experience best practice.
  • Respond to enquiries regarding education support activities and technologies.
  • Assist with maintenance of the Learning Management System (Moodle).
  • Coordinate rollover of courses in Moodle between terms.
  • Upload recordings of scheduled events and edit these recordings appropriately for publication.
  • Evaluate and advise on improvement for eLearning processes.
  • Cooperate with all health & safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the psychosocial or physical health and safety of yourself or others.

 

A person engaged is generally expected to have the following skills and experience:

  • A Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Moodle.
  • Demonstrated experience in use of technology enabled teaching and learning applications (i.e. Captivate) and audio/video editing software.
