Why your role matters
Acting as the faculty’s product marketing expert, this position is responsible for shaping and optimising the market positioning of programs, leading the launch of new offerings, and strengthening recruitment knowledge to maximise impact. The role delivers tailored recruitment strategies through a combination of centrally led initiatives and faculty-specific activities.
Working closely with faculty stakeholders, the Senior Recruitment Product Manager is instrumental in setting and delivering future student load planning targets, as well as supporting the development of new programs to ensure sustained growth across the portfolio. As a key liaison between the Faculty and the Future Student Recruitment team, the role ensures faculty priorities are understood and effectively translated into actionable recruitment outcomes.
Collaboration is central to success in this position, with strong partnerships across domestic and international recruitment teams, as well as the Marketing Strategy and Content team, to drive improved results for the UNSW community.
Reporting to the Head of Future Student Recruitment, with a dotted line to one or two Future Student Faculty Partners, the role also includes leadership responsibilities, managing one or two direct reports.
Specific accountabilities include:
- Drive achievement of undergraduate and postgraduate coursework recruitment targets at the program level across both local and international markets, representing the faculty perspective in leadership forums, sales meetings and cohort working groups to support enrolment outcomes.
- Develop and deliver program-level recruitment initiatives aligned with the annual strategy, contributing faculty-specific insights to central campaigns while leading tailored activities to meet enrolment KPIs.
- Partner with Heads of School and Program Directors to strengthen program positioning through the brand CVP framework, including competitive benchmarking, recommendations to enhance offerings, and input into market research.
About You:
- A relevant tertiary education with substantial experience in product management/product marketing or an equivalent level of industry knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and experience.
- Strong commercial acumen and achievement orientation in a KPI driven sales/marketing context. An ability to set targets, plan complex work plans with competing priorities and review return on investment of activity.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic outcomes with pragmatic short-term requirements to deliver successful outcomes with momentum.
- Excellent collaboration skills and experience working in a complex matrix organisational environment.
- Excellent relationship management skills, with a demonstrated track record of fostering and maintaining strong and successful internal and external networks, supporting successful outcomes.
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills, with proven attention to accuracy and detail.
- Highly developed leadership skills and demonstrated people management experience.
- Higher Education and premium brand experience across local and international markets is highly desirable.
