About the role

The Curriculum and Academic Calendar Support Officer role (internally titled Education and Teaching Support Officer) works within the School of Mathematics and Statistics to support a major academic calendar change project, transitioning from the current “3+” calendar structure to a flex-semester model scheduled for implementation in 2028.

Reporting to the School Manager, this 2-year fixed-term role plays a key part in coordinating implementation activities, supporting teaching and learning initiatives, and providing data-informed reporting and administrative coordination to support decision-making during the transition. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support delivery of academic calendar transition activities, including milestone tracking, risk identification, and process coordination

  • Coordinate meetings and take minutes

  • Work with academic staff to support teaching and learning initiatives aligned with the calendar change

  • Provide advice on teaching and education processes in line with UNSW policies and procedures

  • Coordinate cross-school and university-wide processes and dependencies

  • Produce reports on student performance and outcomes to inform academic planning

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within teaching and learning support
