This role sits in the Culture & Capability function, responsible for the design and development of key frameworks, tools, programs and processes in the areas of leadership, culture, development, talent and wellbeing which will ensure that UNSW staff have the required skills and capabilities to successfully deliver UNSW’s Strategy: Progress for All
Why Your Role Matters:
As Culture & Engagement Lead role you will deliver lead the strategic direction and implementation of UNSW-wide programs that support UNSW’s talent management, D&I and employee experience projects.
Your delivery focus will span:
- Elevating talent management capability across academic promotions, strengthening processes, embedding culture and engagement practices.
- Shaping a Diversity & Inclusion partnering framework alongside D&I stakeholders, utilising data driven insights to guide human-centred decisions.
- Driving system and digital process optimisation for the Culture and Engagement space.
Drawing on your background in HR/higher education, you’ll partner closely with stakeholder experts across the University to embed programs and practices that uplift culture, performance and engagement in these areas.
Reporting to the Head of Culture and Engagement, you’ll play a key role in turning insights into meaningful action, strengthening organisational effectiveness and supporting UNSW’s most important priorities.
Who You Are: You’ll bring extensive experience across the delivery of P&C programs within a large and complex organisations, ideally within higher education. Your background spans enterprise‑level program design, data‑driven evaluation and human‑centred approaches that strengthen culture and engagement.
You will hold the following skills & experience:
- A relevant Degree with extensive experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and experience.
- Proven capability in the management and delivery of people and culture initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in enterprise-level program and process management, data-driven evaluation and the application of human-centred design principles.
- Subject matter expertise in designing and leading initiatives to maximise the engagement of staff including engagement and culture.
- Broad knowledge and practical experience across key organisational development disciplines.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and the proven ability to facilitate group discussions and deliver presentations.
- Proven ability to influence senior management and stakeholders as appropriate to ensure successful outcomes.
- Ability to apply judgement, creativity and flexibility to generate new and innovative ideas and approaches and to solve complex problems
- Advanced level of computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications, databases and HR systems
