Assistant Accountant (Mindgardens)
- Employment Type: Part - time (21 hours a week)
- Duration: Initial fixed term contract until September 2026 with a possible 12-month extension (due to funding structures)
- Remuneration: $88,717 - $100,386 base pro-rata, plus 17% superannuation and leave loading

Mindgardens Neuroscience Network Limited (Mindgardens) is a registered charity focusing exclusively on transforming support for mental health, addiction & behavioural neuroscience.

Why this role matters
This position provides support to Mindgardens in day-to-day finance services such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, general ledger maintenance and reconciliation of accounts. Reporting to the Finance Manager, they are responsible for providing proactive, practical, and efficient financial support for all aspects of Mindgardens.
Key skills required:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Bachelor of Commerce/Accounting or equivalent combination of qualifications and work experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of financial controls, accounting processes and experience in applying policy and guidelines.
- Experience in managing stakeholder expectations and appropriately responding to stakeholder needs.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills to inform, persuade, and negotiate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in a complex environment, to meet organisational expectations, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Well-developed time management and organisational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines, adopting a commitment to providing excellent service.
- Working knowledge of computer applications (e.g. Microsoft 365) and experience in enterprise financial systems (e.g. Xero, Calxa, Business Central, Solver and Calumo).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately report on business data and financial transactions to support senior management.
