Position Summary
The Lecturer (Education Focussed), Rural delivers high-quality teaching within a rural medical program, with a strong focus on the application of Basic Sciences in Clinical Medicine and/or Multidisciplinary Care and Clinical Skills Techniques.
The role supports student learning through immersive rural clinical experiences, contributes to curriculum delivery and innovation, and fosters collaboration with local health partners. The Lecturer also engages in rural research initiatives, student supervision, and builds strong partnerships across rural campuses and healthcare networks.
This position reports to the Director of Medical Education at the identified campus and has no direct reports.
Skills & Experience
- A PhD in a relevant medical sciences field or health discipline with subsequent relevant work experience and professional expertise.
- Evidence and maintenance of professional development in pedagogy, disciplinary knowledge, and professional accreditation requirements.
- Evidence of sound interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated experience in large and small group teaching, and ability to apply knowledge and teaching methodologies in health education including online delivery and the use of educational technologies.
