Position Summary:

As the Administrative Officer, you will play a key role in coordinating and managing the general administration within the School of Economics. The responsibilities of the role include providing vital support across teaching and learning administrative functions, as well as contributing operationally to major School initiatives. In this dynamic role, you’ll assist with course timetabling, Moodle support, exam coordination, results processing and HDR term activities, ensuring smooth operations throughout the academic cycle.

You’ll help implement School and University policies and play a key role in supporting the transition to new academic calendar models, including the shift to the 2028 Flex Semester system. Working closely with the Head of School and academic staff, you’ll contribute to course planning and project delivery to support this significant change. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organised, proactive, and keen to contribute to impactful projects that shape the future of the School.

The role reports to the School Manager.

 

Skills and Experience Summary:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, influence and guide staff.
  • Highly advanced interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience providing effective customer service and support to clients at all levels.
  • Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to plan, organise and co-ordinate projects and tasks.
  • Excellent numeracy skills with the ability to understand and communicate financial information and monitor budgets.
