The Opportunity:

We’re excited to be recruiting two (2) dynamic and motivated Teaching Support Administration (TSA) Officers to join two schools within the Faculty of Engineering. As a valued member of our Teaching Support Team, you will contribute to the delivery, coordination, and ongoing enhancement of learning and teaching activities across our coursework programs.

You will work closely with the Team Leader, Academic Program Authorities, Course Convenors, and the School Manager to support the effective design, development, and implementation of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Your strong organisational skills and commitment to service excellence will help ensure the smooth, consistent, and high‑quality delivery of academic programs, supporting the faculty’s commitment to operational excellence.

This role reports to the School Manager and has no direct reports.

  • Salary, Broadbanded Level 5/6:
    • Level 5 - $88,717 to $100,386 per annum + 17% superannuation
    • Level 6 - $ 103,866 to $110,801 per annum + 17% superannuation
  • Full Time
  • 12 months and 24-month positions available
  • Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia
  • The successful candidate is required to be on campus minimum 3 days per week.

2 positions available:

Teaching Support Administration Officer - School of Chemical Engineering (12 months)
Teaching Support Administration Officer - School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications (24 months)

Skills and Experience:

Level 5

  • A relevant degree and relevant administrative or customer service experience in a tertiary organisation, or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Highly developed organisational skills including the ability to prioritise, conduct complex tasks and projects and meet competing deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated high-level experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office. Experience using a student management system would be highly regarded.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.

Level 6 (in addition to above)

  • Significant relevant experience in a similar role in a tertiary organisation.
  • Experience providing a broad range of teaching administration support and advice to Academic staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply, interpret, advise on and contribute to the development of policies, systems, manuals, rules, procedures and guidelines.
