The Lead Integration Solution Architect role is responsible for the development of target state architecture and the delivery of seamless integration of various systems for specific business or technology domains within UNSW. The role will lead the development of strategies, solutions, patterns and standards to guide the delivery of solutions with these domains. The prime focus will be the ERP and ESM domains of Oracle and ServiceNow.
The role is part of the Integration team within the Corporate Services division and is responsible for the delivery of the integration capabilities in support of a highly strategic program for the University. The position will report to the Head of Integration and has no direct reports.
Specific accountabilities for this role include
- Develop integration strategies and end-to-end architectures to facilitate seamless connections within enterprise environments, including multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments
- Design, implement, and manage integration solutions across multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments, considering security, scalability, and performance
- Define and enforce integration patterns, standards, methodologies and best practices
- Design modern integration solutions and patterns such as APIs, event-driven architectures, serverless computing, API gateways, Web Service interfaces, integration logic (orchestration, transformation) in the Microsoft Azure Platform and microservices-based solutions
- Lead and mentor development teams in the design and implementation of integration solutions, ensuring adherence to architectural principles
- Engage with stakeholders to translate requirements and gain buy-in for integration target states and roadmaps
- Assist in project planning, estimation, and resource allocation for integration projects
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for integration architectures, designs, and implementations, including diagrams and technical specifications
- Continuously evaluate and optimize existing integration solutions to improve efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness
- Work closely with other enterprise architects, solution architects, and technical teams to ensure cohesive and integrated architecture across the organization
- Clearly articulate integration strategies, designs, and benefits to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to contemporary integration style
- Lead and execute the Architectural & Security governance processes for new solution designs (such as Architecture Working Group, Architecture Review Board, Cybersecurity Assessment)

Who you are:
• Tertiary qualifications in IT or related discipline together with 7+ years’ experience in software development using Cloud architectures and middleware components.
• Extensive experience designing and implementing solutions using Azure integration services (API Management Gateway, Event Grid, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Function Apps) as well as Azure data platform (Data Factory, SQL, Synapse, Data Lake, Databricks, PowerBI)
• Extensive experience across the Oracle and Service Now integration ecosystems, enterprise level of solution design and delivery.
• API development using REST/JSON, SOAP/XML, Web service with a strong understanding of security and privacy controls for applications and APIs
• Experience with Dev Ops and CI/CD tools.
• Experience defining and managing an integration design practice including integration patterns, register, and system integration landscape diagrams
• Comprehensive analytical and problem-solving skills and proven capacity to exercise initiative, flexibility and to be proactive in development of robust solutions to problems.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
• Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.
• Strong knowledge of system testing and software quality assurance practices and methodologies as applied to integrated solutions.
• Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
• An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
• Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
