Why Your Role Matters:
Our Superannuation Officers provide expert guidance and administrative support to ensure the timely, accurate and compliant processing of superannuation contributions at UNSW. Working as part of the Superannuation & Benefits team, you will support the delivery of high‑quality superannuation services, ensuring compliance with Australian legislation, Enterprise Agreements, and internal policies.

Reporting to the Superannuation & Benefits Manager, you’ll bring your sound knowledge across payroll practices and superannuation fund administration to play an essential role in the team’s collaborative delivery of an efficient, compliant, and customer‑focused service.

Your typical day would be:

  • Accurate and timely processing of superannuation activities, including reconciliation, contribution updates, database maintenance, calculations and adjustments.
  • Delivering a high standard of customer service to a range of stakeholders, responding to superannuation and benefit enquiries, communicating outcomes and resolving issues effectively.
  • Applying and interpreting relevant legislation, Enterprise Agreements and internal policies accurately to ensure sustainable pay confidence.
  • Managing and resolving complex enquiries or issues, including employee matters, system behaviour, payment discrepancies, timelines for delivery, escalating matters where required.
  • Maintaining accuracy and integrity of superannuation and benefits data and resolving discrepancies to ensure compliant and reliable pay outcomes.
  • Providing guidance and subject matter expertise, strengthening capability, promoting consistent application of best practice and contributing to governance, compliance and operational objectives.
  • Supporting continuous improvement by contributing to enhancements to systems, processes and policies.

Who You Are: We’re looking for a professional with a practical understanding of payroll services and relevant experience in a superannuation specialist role based in a large and complex corporate environment, bringing the perspective and understanding that is required to work with diverse stakeholders in this dynamic team environment
You will hold the following skills & experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Sound and up-to-date knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and superannuation fund administration.
  • Demonstrated experience with superannuation fund administration.
  • Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including the ability to explain payroll concepts in a clear, simple and pleasant manner.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing superior customer service to support stakeholders at different levels.
  • Proficient in Oracle payroll and HRIS products.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • High attention to detail and level of accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
