Working closely with senior researchers, Faculty leadership, the UNSW Division of Research & Enterprise, and external partners, the role combines strategic oversight, hands-on bid development, and project management to support the full lifecycle of major proposals: from early-stage concept development and partnership formation, through to submission and initial post-award establishment. A key focus of the role is to strengthen the quality and competitiveness of major bids by shaping compelling narratives, coordinating complex multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring that proposals are strategically positioned, partner aligned, and delivered in a timely fashion.

• Degree in a relevant discipline and extensive experience in research management or bid development.

• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.

• High-level project management skills including planning, risk management, and compliance.

• Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to produce compelling submissions.

• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.

• Strong knowledge of Australian and international research funding landscapes.

• Demonstrated experience coordinating large, complex research proposals or competitive funding submissions such as complex research bids including ARC Centres of Excellence, Laureate Fellowships, Cooperative Research Centres (CRCs), Dept of Education Trailblazer submissions, or similar mission-driven schemes.
