The Opportunity
The Education Strategy Data Manager plays a key role within UNSW Engineering in providing dedicated strategic and practical support to the Education Portfolio and leadership team. This role entails significant contribution to the strategic and operational education projects in the Faculty through support in data and project planning, delivery, and reporting for key projects and initiatives, supporting the delivery of the UNSW Engineering Strategy. The utilisation and generation of data, as well as data visualisations to support tracking and decision making, in accordance with UNSW policies and procedures, are a key component of this role. The role reports to the Academic Programs Manager and has one direct report. It works closely with other members of the portfolio and routinely collaborates with the Faculty leadership and UNSW Engineering schools.

Skills and Experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training, and experience. Experience in quality assurance, data management, analysis and reporting in Higher Education is highly desirable.
- Project management experience, with an in-depth understanding of the project life cycle and strategic development of project plans, objectives and documentation.
- Extensive experience working with data, data analysis, and data visualisations with success in developing reports and/or dashboards to support decision making, and strategic and operational planning.
- Significant data, analysis, and critical judgement skills, including the ability to synthesise large amounts of complex information, both qualitative and quantitative, and present in a succinct and professional manner.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced. This included the ability to produce comprehensive and high-quality reports and data visualisations for various audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and consultation skills, including the ability to build and sustain effective professional relationships and demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.
- High level of experience and proven success working with a range of systems and applications, including but not limited to the Microsoft suite and Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Excel, Power Automate, etc.). Experience working with as a range of UNSW systems including SiMs, ECLIPS, Info Hub/Azure, CRM and Calumo is desirable.
- Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks, work independently and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
