The Opportunity
The Academic Calendar Transition Senior Project Manager plays a leading strategic role within UNSW Engineering in the planning, development and implementation of the new Academic Calendar and related projects across the Faculty. The role entails developing project planning documentation, identifying and building appropriate project teams and initiating and overseeing the project, including managing all stakeholder engagement and quality assurance, and ensuring alignment with the strategic direction of the Faculty. The role reports to the Associate Dean Education and will collaborate closely with a range of stakeholders in the Education Portfolio and across the schools. The role has no direct reports.

  • Salary, Level 9: $148,012 - $157,056 per annum + 17% superannuation
  • Full time
  • Fixed-Term – 3 years
  • Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia (on campus attendance required)

Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience. Experience working in the Higher Education sector in Australia is highly desirable.
  • Advanced project management experience, with an in-depth understanding of the project life cycle and strategic development of project plans, objectives and documentation.
  • Excellent consultation, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills and proven capacity to exercise initiative, flexibility and to be proactive in development of robust solutions to problems.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.
  • High level of experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including Office 365 and AI tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
