The Opportunity

  • Full-time (35-hour week), 2-year fixed term contract
  • Hybrid/Flexible working including 9-day fortnight option available
  • $103,866 - $123,301 + 17% super + leave loading 

The Role:

As a Post-Award Grant Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting researchers once their funding is secured. Your work helps ensure they meet their financial and progress reporting obligations, while also guiding them through the post-award process with clarity and confidence. You’ll collaborate with academics and professional staff across the University, keep accurate records, and provide responsive, high-quality support. You’ll also contribute to improving the way we work by helping refine processes and strengthen service delivery.

  1. Build strong relationships across the University and become a trusted point of contact for post-award matters.
  2. Develop a broad understanding of the Australian higher education sector and global research funding environments.
  3. Manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced grants landscape, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  4. Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance our systems.
  5. Champion our values, promoting a safe, collaborative, and service-focused culture.

Research Grants and Contracts (RGC):

RGC contributes to UNSW’s research performance and profile via the effective management of the University’s research income. RGC is the key link between UNSW researchers, executive and funding agencies such as the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), Australian Research Council (ARC), other government and non-government research funders, competitive grant funders and industry partners. The RGC teams are a crucial component in the university’s ongoing strategy to increase knowledge exchange and towards meeting the Strategy 2025 aims.

Each year RGC manages projects valued at more than $450M in research income which includes more than 6,000 ongoing projects on behalf of UNSW, supporting more than 3,500 UNSW academics.
