Why Your Role Matters
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Level B) to join a cutting-edge research agenda on culture, institutions, and economics.
This research-only position offers the opportunity to work under the supervision of Professor Pauline Grosjean (UNSW) and in collaboration with Victoria Baranov (University of Melbourne), Ralph De Haas (EBRD), and Ieda Matavelli (CERGE-EI). You will contribute to the design and execution of research projects, carry out independent and collaborative research, and help develop applications for competitive funding.
The role reports to Professor Grosjean and has no direct reports.
You will:
- Engage in individual and collaborative research aligned with disciplinary standards.
- Create scholarly impact recognised by peers in the advancement of knowledge.
- Conduct research activities independently or as part of a team.
- Design and execute research projects, including field experiments.
- Establish a personal research portfolio and develop independent research proposals.
- Contribute to competitive funding applications under guidance.
- Collaborate across institutions and disciplines.
Skills and Experience:
- A PhD completed or near completion in Economics or a related field.
- Strong coding skills (e.g., R, Python, Stata).
- Experience in designing and conducting experiments.
- Excellent empirical research skills.
- Demonstrated interest in gender norms, culture, political economy, and social change.
- Proven commitment to staying current with developments in your discipline.
