Why Your Role Matters 

The Scholarships function at UNSW provides strategic and operational support to the Division of Education & Student Experience and the broader University. UNSW Scholarships manages the administration of all undergraduate and postgraduate coursework scholarships (excluding the Co-op Program) for both domestic and international students. These scholarships are funded through various sources, including internal university funds, the UNSW Foundation, government, industry, and external partners. The team also plays a key role in ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and legislation. 

The position reports to the Scholarships Team Leader and has no direct reports. Please review the job description for review of full accountabilities.  

The role is approved until early August 2026 at this stage, with possibility of extension. 

Role Summary 

This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of a high volume of scholarship applications, assessments, payments, records, and communications. It involves working collaboratively within a dynamic team to support reporting, system management, and stakeholder engagement, while delivering exceptional service. The position also contributes to ongoing process improvements, represents UNSW Scholarships at events, and builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through clear communication and professionalism. 

Who You Are 

We are looking for someone who is aligned with UNSW’s vision and comes with: 

  • Previous experience dealing with scholarship applications in a higher education environment ideally or in student finances 

  • Advanced computing proficiency, including strong Excel and MS Office skills, with experience navigating complex business systems 

  • Strong written and verbal communication, organisational, administrative, and customer service skills 

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team, preferably in customer service and higher education settings 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with people from diverse backgrounds 

  • High attention to detail and accuracy, especially in high-volume or peak processing environments 

  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a busy environment and meet competing deadlines 

  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures, and contribute to business operations and improvements 

  • Capable of working independently, using initiative, and supporting or guiding others as needed 

  • Flexible and adaptable, with strong multitasking skills and openness to change in a dynamic environment 

  • Ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders across UNSW and external organisations. 

The successful person will be required to work over the Christmas shutdown and occasionally be available after hours or during weekends. Flexible working arrangements can be discussed at interview time. 

Candidates will need to have ongoing working rights – this role is not available for sponsorship.
