Why this role matters:
The Course Development Manager is a key member of the AGSM Educational Development team, UNSW Business School, working in close collaboration with academic leaders, program directors, and subject-matter experts to ensure the delivery of world-class MBA courses.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Educational Development, the role oversees the quality, relevance, and innovation of MBA courses, while managing the development of new offerings. With a strong focus on adult learning and contemporary pedagogy, the Course Development Manager provides expert advice on curriculum design, assessment, and learning strategies, ensuring compliance with UNSW policies and external standards. The position also contributes to strategic initiatives and projects that enhance the student learning experience.
Skills Required:
- Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualification with extensive relevant experience, or equivalent competence gained through education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in managing (planning, developing, delivering and reviewing) quality programs and initiatives in an academic setting, with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and work on multiple projects concurrently and under pressure.
- Extensive experience in educational design and development for adult learning.
- Demonstrated capacity to advise and support staff on the design of student-centred, active learning experiences in multiple modes.
- Proven ability to produce detailed work of a consistently excellent standard.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including exceptional instructional design capabilities with keen attention to detail.
- Proven ability to foster and manage complex relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Australian copyright law, and demonstrated understanding of intellectual property and academic integrity, including in relation to the use of Generative AI.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training
