Why Your Role Matters 

The Senior Content Specialist develops, manages, and optimises high-quality content to enhance the digital offering and experience for current students. Core responsibilities of this include developing and leading the current student web content strategy and working as part of the cross-functional current student website migration team to complete and operationalise the migration from Drupal to Adobe Experience Manager. The Senior Content Specialist works within the cross-functional Current Students Web Content team, reports to the Manager, Student Communications and has two direct reports. 

This is a new role, approved as a 12 month-contract, with an ideal start date of March, funded to support the migration of the current student website from Drupal to Adobe Experience Manager. 

Main responsibilities summary 

  • Supervise and support two Web Content Producers, providing guidance and effective feedback to ensure high-quality content production 

  • Contribute to the finalisation of the delivery and implementation plan and create and publish web pages and content as per the wireframes developed during technical discovery 

  • With the Web Content & Migration project teams, coordinate the completion of the migration of the current student website 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive current student web content strategy that aligns with business goals and enhances the student digital experience 

  • Support the Manager, Student Communications to effectively operationalise and onboard the Web Content & Communications teams to new platforms and ways of working, including Wrike 

  • Implement quality control measures and digital and SEO best practice 

  • Proactively identify and resolve technical issues, or unexpected challenges that may arise during the migration process 

  • Monitor and report on website performance and audience behaviours for leaders and stakeholders using Adobe Analytics, Content Square and a range of other tools and platforms 

  • Undertake relevant research to understand informational needs and requirements from current students 

Who You Are 

We are looking for someone who has great communication and interpersonal skills, who is aligned with UNSW’s vision and values and comes with: 

  • Demonstrated experience in development and delivery of digital communications, web user experience and high-quality content as well as in the development of content strategies 

  • Demonstrated experience managing direct reports or leading and coaching a team members 

  • Advanced level of computer literacy with experience working with Adobe Marketing Cloud, specifically Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Analytics, excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications 

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with the application of UX design best practices, and an interest in UI design 

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with high level of attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines 

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills, ideally within a higher education setting 

  • Strong understanding of current student audience and their information digital requirements throughout the student lifecycle.  

Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, business hours. The job cannot be done fully remotely (at least one or two days a week on campus), however flexible work arrangements are available.
