Post-Doctoral Fellow (Ocular and/or vascular disease)

  • Employment Type: Full - time (35 hours a week)
  • Duration: Fixed Term position until 31st December 2025
  • Remuneration: $88k - $117k base (+ 17% Super, leave loading)
  • Location: Kensington, Sydney   

Why this role matters 

This role will be responsible for the conduct of experiments and analysis of data related to a program developing novel therapeutic approaches for ocular and/or vascular disease. The incumbent will be a key contributor in this project, performing experiments, and identifying opportunities for collaboration and funding and assisting the broader team with other research-related duties. The project will involve a range of molecular and cellular techniques with cells in culture, and studies in animal models.

Some key skills required: 

  • A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise and practical surgical experience in animal models of ocular and/or vascular, cardiovascular and inflammatory disease would be a distinct advantage
  • Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
