Strategic Procurement's primary purpose is to deliver value by providing safe, efficient and effective procurement and in-bound supply chain services to UNSW faculties, businesses and divisions. Value is achieved through the establishment or improvement of competitive supply markets for the purchase of goods and services. Value is enabled by highly capable people applying uniform processes and e-technologies resulting in continuous supply chain improvement, enhanced corporate social responsibility and measurable savings for UNSW.
A key objective of IT Procurement is to:
- be a trusted business advisor;
- capture sustained and competitive value; and
- manage reputational, legal, commercial and supply risks.
IT Procurement plays a key role in managing and co-ordinating the delivery of high value IT products and services to meet UNSW expectations and facilitation of continuous improvement.
The IT Procurement team works collaboratively with stakeholders to partner with the business to deliver outcomes while ensuring appropriate processes are followed in best managing identified risk.
The Senior IT Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing a Sourcing Strategy that aligns to the recently released IT Strategy. They will lead strategic sourcing activities across the IT portfolio and work collaboratively with stakeholders to understand business needs and objectives.
This position reports to the IT Procurement Manager and has no direct reports.
You will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification with extensive relevant experience, or equivalent competency gained through any other combination of education, training or experience. Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (MCIPS) accreditation is desirable.
- Extensive procurement experience in the use and deployment of leading edge technologies, solutions, innovative solutions and technology trends.
- Demonstrated experience in the development of procurement strategies aligned to IT strategy to drive dollar savings, process and performance improvement.
- Proven outstanding interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and relationship building skills.
- Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills, with a motivated and enthusiastic attitude to problem solving.
- Proven ability in coaching and mentoring team members, as well as fostering a collaborative, customer focused working environment.
- Evidenced ability to contribute to high-level strategic planning and implementation, including developing and implementing effective team strategic and operational plans for the delivery of services.
- Demonstrated ability to adopt new procurement methods and processes to deliver outcomes and meet the internal customer needs whilst consistently challenge existing paradigms.
- Proven ability to deliver a consistent standard of performance in stakeholder engagement, as well as the ability and passion for delivering commercially astute outcomes.
