The Co-op Industry Partner plays a key role within the Pro Vice-Chancellor Student Success portfolio, in managing and securing scholarship funding for the Technology and Data Science streams of the Co-op Scholarship Program. The role will promote and drive the UNSW Co-op Program to industry, managing scholar/sponsor partnerships, securing sponsorship places, conducting annual reviews with and reporting to sponsors primarily in the area of Technology and Data Science. A key part of this role also is to contribute to identifying new opportunities and the development of plans to expand and grow the Co-op Program. In addition, this role will be actively involved in running Co-op Professional Development Programs including the Graduate Advantage Program (GAP) and other skills-based workshops with current and future students as well as sponsors.

The role reports to the Head, Co-op and has no direct reports.

Main responsibilities Summary

  • Maintain and develop the network of industry contacts and sponsors and be actively involved in the promotion of UNSW Co-op programs with industry
  • Demonstrate and build sufficient understanding and appreciation of the needs, trends and challenges of the industry sectors covered, to make an ongoing strategic contribution to the review of the Program in those sectors,  to expand coverage, relationships and scholarship numbers
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive partnerships with the Co-op Program sponsor pool
  • Work with the Co-op Academic Co-ordinators across the relevant program streams/faculties, supporting all student allocations and attending scholar end-of-placement presentations and managing general student issues for the relevant program streams.
  • Support the UNSW Co-op Internship Partner in the selection and appointment of interns
  • Conduct sponsor reviews and prepare and write reports as required by sponsor companies for example, graduate recruitment stories and statistics
  • Actively contribute to the optimisation of Professional Development Program (PDP) workshops and events
  • Initiate and manage a wider range of the Co-op’s key processes for example the Co-op Exit Surveys, Graduate Recruitment events and other activities
  • Maintain current and accurate records,  relevant information and business activities on the database and website

Who You Are

We are looking for someone who is aligned with UNSW’s vision and values, who is highly energised by building relationships, with excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills. We’d love you to come equipped with:

  • Demonstrated business experience of the industry employment needs, with an understanding of the Graduate Recruitment process. You could currently be working in pipeline recruitment or have considerable experience in industry with managing graduates or interns
  • Exposure to the Technology and Data Science industry would be highly regarded
  • A flexible can-do attitude: we are a small team, so we are looking for people who are happy to be flexible and jcollaborating across a range of projects as needed
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver presentations, prepare business reviews and reports
  • Advanced organisational and time management skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager would be advantageous
  • Experience with an Internship Management platform would also be advantageous

Working hours are Monday to Friday, business hours with some evening events and initiatives. Whilst there is some flexibility to work from home from time to time, the team is student-facing so has a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.  .
