Why Your Role Matters

The Postgraduate Student Recruitment and Conversion Lead at UNSW is key in dually developing and implementing recruitment strategies to attract Postgraduate Coursework enrolments as well as leading the implementation of high touch sales engagement and conversion practices and training for all cohorts. The role focuses on driving personalised recruitment activities and conversion campaigns, maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and leading proactive changes in business practices. The position requires strong commercial acumen, sales and CRM expertise, and the ability to drive customer-focused service and development.

The Lead reports to the Associate Director, Future Student Recruitment, and oversees one direct report, who provides administrative and operational support across the postgraduate portfolio.

Responsibilities Summary

  • Develop and implement UNSW’s Postgraduate Student Recruitment Strategy to meet commencement targets
  • Drive sales and conversion uplift through seamless customer experiences across key touchpoints, including pre- and post-event engagement and personalised conversion calling campaigns
  • Oversee the implementation of ‘always on’ conversion calling campaign systems and processes, including data integration, systems management, and sophisticated reporting mechanisms
  • Design and deploy sales/CRM enablement, product, and compliance training for recruitment teams, both onshore and offshore
  • Maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders and be accountable for the annual intake of Domestic Postgraduate students
  • Foster a customer-focused approach to service and business development, identifying new opportunities or emerging issues
  • Lead the design and deployment of sales enablement and product training across the Future Students team
  • Provide strategic direction and drive change to align recruitment business practices with UNSW's lead management strategy
  • Develop and deliver an annual calendar of activities to support the agreed strategy for the Division
  • Maintain an expert knowledge of UNSW Postgraduate coursework offerings, including audience understanding, product understanding, admissions, and entry requirements
  • Lead and contribute to the development of recruitment collateral, both physical and digital
  • Maintain a strong understanding of competitor activity in the Postgraduate market and provide insights on implications

Who you are

We are looking for someone who is excited about UNSW’s vision and values, who is a great collaborator with experience in a complex matrix environment. In relation to your experience, we’d love you to come equipped with:

  • An extensive commercial sales background, ideally in a higher education and student recruitment environment. We would still encourage candidates with no prior experience in education to apply
  • Demonstrated experience in business sales, strategy development and execution, delivering against targets, and driving increased return on investment
  • Experience leading, designing, and deploying sales enablement initiatives, including product and sales/CRM training
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and achievement orientation in a KPI-driven sales/marketing context
  • The ability to create and nurture high-performing sales teams, embedding a customer-first culture
  • Proven experience in end-to-end lead management from generation to qualification and closure
  • Advanced stakeholder management and relationship development skills

This role works on a hybrid basis (3 days on campus, 2 days home). Whilst we love to promote and transfer our employees internally, when possible, there is no guarantee of extension of the contract past December 2025. There will be occasional work required outside of business hours and will be small periods over the year where annual leave restrictions apply. All of this will be discussed during the interview if your application is progressing.
