Under general supervision, the Shuttle Driver operates the Garnet Shuttle to various points on campus and transports students, staff and faculty safely.

The days and hours available for this Part-Time position are:

• Mon 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Campus Shuttle
• Fri 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Campus Shuttle
• Sun-Sat 4:45 p.m. - 2:30 a.m. Campus Shuttle
• Tue and Sun 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Target/Giant (could be split between two drivers one on Tue and one on Sun)
• Fri 5:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. Walmart/Media/Movies

Essential Responsibilities:
• Provide professional shuttle service to the Swarthmore College community.
• Be able to operate a 14-passenger van in inclement weather and road conditions.
• Conduct a pre/post inspection to ensure safe operation of the vehicle and document/report deficiencies or damage to the on-duty supervisor promptly.

Required Qualifications:
• Must have a valid Class 6 Drivers License and be able to operate an ADA accessible ramp.
• Must have a clean driving record and be accident free for minimum of 6 years.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous driving experience as a shuttle driver and or CDL preferred.

The pay for this position is $20.00 per hour, which represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range at the time of posting.

Act 153 Clearance Required by Position 

This position may regularly interact with minors. Under Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Law, (23 Pa. Cons. Stat. §§6301, et seq.) employees who have direct contact with minors are required to obtain the following background clearances prior to the start of employment:

• Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History (PATCH) through the Pennsylvania State Police
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (PACA) through the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services
• FBI Criminal History Background Check (FBI Fingerprint).

MVR Clearance Required by Position

Due to operating a College owned motor vehicle while performing essential job responsibilities for this position, a motor vehicle report (MVR) clearance is required prior to the start of employment.
