The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Customer Care Team Lead to lead a busy and hardworking team based in Somersby. You’ll oversee a high-volume customer care function supporting municipal customers, councils and residential customers. The team manages a broad range of enquiries, including missed bin calls, additional bookings, maintenance requests, and council-related service requests.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be responsible for workload management, resource planning, team performance, and complaints resolution, while also stepping in to support the team when volumes are high.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, coach and support a team of customer care team members
  • Manage a high-volume contact centre across calls and shared inboxes
  • Oversee enquiries from municipal (council) and residential customers
  • Coordinate workflow and resources to meet daily demand
  • Manage escalations and complaints, ensuring timely resolution
  • Step in during peak periods to support the team and maintain service levels

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience leading teams in a high-volume customer service or contact centre environment
  • Strong leadership capability with the ability to guide, motivate and manage a diverse team
  • Experience managing workflow, rosters or resourcing to meet service demands
  • Solutions-focused approach to escalations and complaints
  • Strong communication skills, with a hands-on approach and ability to build positive stakeholder relationships
