The Opportunity
We have a great opportunity for a Regional Process Engineer to join our team based in Perth. Reporting to the Regional Engineering and Projects Manager, you will be responsible for developing new and updating existing process systems, pursuing reliable operations, safety, and compliance with regulations within the specified region.
This is a vital role that supports project delivery and operational efficiency, minimises lost time, and supports Cleanaway’s strategic objectives. Travel to the associated sites include the Northern Territory, South Australia and regional Western Australia is required for this role.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Providing expertise to address process challenges and supporting the regional leads strategic goals also problem-solving and acting as a liaison between regional facilities and regions leadership
- Being a regional leader/representative in relation to MOC, PSSR, HAZOP and HAZID
- Working with third party contractors including maintenance, operations and quality teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Evaluating and implementing new technologies or methodologies to improve operational outcomes
- Conducting audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards
- Developing the basis of design, design criteria and assumptions and generating PFDs
About You
You have a technical and curious mindset and enjoy solving problems within a collaborative team. Your are self-driven and keen to work towards operational excellence. Your ability to ask the tough questions and your critical thinking will ensure your success in the role. Furthermore, you will also possess.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical/Process Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience with industrial wastewater and fixed plant, including the development of mass and energy balances.
- Experience with hazardous areas, dangerous goods and high-risk environments
- Demonstrated experience in process design for industrial plants (brownfield experience highly regarded)
- Proven ability to produce and own PFDs/P&IDs and design calculations with full traceability
- Competence in relief/vent sizing and overpressure protection (API 520/521 or equivalent)
- Proficiency with one or more: Aspen HYSYS/Plus, CHEMCAD, Pro/II; AFT Fathom/Impulse or Pipe-FLO; AutoCAD/Plant 3D; Excel-based calc sheets.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and highly skilled in risk management and problem-solving
- Experience with Management of Change (MOC), Pre-Start-Up-Safety-Review (PSSR), HAZOP and HAZID
