The Opportunity
Join our dynamic Oils and Technical Services team – a critical function supporting the collection, treatment, processing, and disposal of packaged hazardous waste. As Operations Manager, you’ll lead day-to-day operations across the site, ensuring compliance, efficiency, all while keeping operations within budget and identifying opportunities to enhance safety and performance.
This is a hands-on leadership role with real impact – perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment and is driven to create continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Identity and drive operational efficiencies to improve service delivery, meet contractual obligations, and achieve performance targets.
- Working with safety, environmental and engineering teams to ensure compliance with safety, regulations, and site licensing requirements.
- Maintain and optimise equipment usage and identify additional resource needs.
- Oversee cost control and support revenue-generating activities.
- Working with health and safety teams to investigate and report on safety incidents and implement improvements.
- Lead and support a dedicated team, fostering a safe and respectful workplace.
- Design and implement chemical treatment processes, risk assessments, and work instructions.
About You
You’re a natural leader with a solid background in chemical operations or hazardous waste. You know how to look at complex processes and make them better, and you’re passionate about creating a safe, efficient, and high-performing work environment.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Proven leadership experience in an operational environment dealing with dangerous chemicals.
- A background in chemical waste, manufacturing, or hazardous logistics.
- Strong knowledge of safety systems and a track record of safety-first leadership.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- The ability to prioritise, plan and execute tasks under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
