About the role:

As the Senior Education Officer you will be accountable for the delivery of education and auditing programs, overseeing, guiding and coordinating the team. This role contributes to the achievement of the contractual obligations to implement waste reduction and resource recovery strategies and will also act as a relief in the absence of the Sustainability Manager.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Liaise with external stakeholders including municipal and commercial customers, communities, suppliers, government bodies and regulators.
• Lead key projects and act as liaison and coordination with internal and external stakeholders regarding project requirements.
• In conjunction with the team produce sustainability and environmental research reports.
• Guide and mentor team development
• Represent Cleanaway at industry events and in the market.

About you:

• A qualified and technically proficient sustainability/environmental professional with a degree in, or comparable background/experience in Environmental Science or similar.
• Solid project management skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deliver outcomes to high standards and by committed deadlines.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills - able to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in leading, mentoring, and coaching teams.
• Experience in the waste sector would be an advantage, but not essential.
